[问题] VMware上Debian装FVWM启动不了？

感谢高手给我个答复.研究了一天实在是不知道怎么弄.
本人第一次接触LINUX.选择了DEBIAN.并且希望坚持下去.

基本情况：

DEBIAN系统.全新安装.VMware Server V3.0.集成显卡.

APT-GET INSTALL X-WINDOW-SYSTEM-CORE
APT-GET INSTALL FVWM
APT-GET UPGRADE

然后按照一个朋友说的配置如下:

在 /etc/inittab 文件中.设置以命令行的方式来启动 id:3:initdefault.
然后把 /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc 这个文件备份为 xinitrc.old.
然后在 /root/ 下面建立一个 .xinitrc 文件.在里面写入: exec fvwm 保存.
然后运行 startx.

我估计可能是因为这里有问题.我通过重新设置X以后问题依旧.
我的显示器是SAMSUNG的17.肯定是可以上1024*768@85的.
不清楚到底如何设置.谢谢各位解答.
