[help!]checking root filesys

我的机器在C盘装了一个XP，在逻辑分区分一块装了个LINUX RH9。 前几天XP出了毛病，我便把C盘用ghost还原了，结果linux9在启动是就出现了如下情况：
checking root filesystem/antains a file system with errors,check forced.
Error reading block 98308 (Attempt to read block from filesystem resulted in short read) while doing inode scan.
/: UNEXPECTED INCONSISTENCY;RUN FSCK MANUALLY.
    (i.e.,without -a or -p oplions)                              
***An error occurred during the file system check.
***Dropping you to a shell;the system will reboot
***when you leave the shell.
Give root password for maintenance.(or type control -D to continue):

请问这是什么情况，还有办法救吗？怎么补救？
望高手指点......

文件系统损坏，输入root passwd 修复试试。
