我用的也是笔记本,redhat9.0.
以前用一些老版本的linux发行版安装时也是到了x-windows时就死机.
我觉得是显卡或者显示器的问题.

choose text interface installation, config it later. make sure u can find u graphic card support under linux before u install it. seach 'xxx linux ' from google. xxx is the name of u chip.

Try Redhat7.2, I think that it should be supported the sis650. My display card is sis620 and was supported by it.
