我已装好debian30r1+kde，现在的问题是机器一启动就直接进入了图形界面，有没有办法让机器启动后进入字符界面，然后通过命令来启动图形界面

modify u /etc/inittab file.
change the value after init from 5 to 3.

debian下改inittab里的runlevel是没有作用的

请用rcconf把xdm或其它?dm关掉就行
或者干脆就把?dm删掉

sorry, i assume it works on debian. when i install debian, i only use console. so never check this. i should install a debian sometiem later...

Debian modified the traditional UNIX style. Unix puts different set of scripts in   /etc/rc?.d, so 3 means console and 5 means x. by default Debian boots into runlevel 2, and runs the scripts in /etc/rc2.d correspondingly. if u delete the X starter there, such as gdm or xdm, the system will not go into x mode directly the next time it boots. do not worry u will lose it, because they are merely links to files in /etc/init.d.
