郁闷！我进不了XWINDOWS了！怎么办？救命……
我刚才安装了NVIDIA_kernel-1.0-3123.i386和NVIDIA_GLX-1.0-3123.i386。先装的NVIDIA_kernel-1.0-3123.i386。安装一切正常。安装完后我修改了/etc/X11下的XF86Config文件，删除了Load "Glore"和Load "dri"，但默认有 Load "glx"。“nv”，改为“nvidia”并在“nvidia”所在块加入：

Option "DigitalVibrance" "3"
Option "WindowFlip" "true"
然后重启。
到登陆时无法进入XWINDOWS，文本模式闪了几次报错：

选择YES后系统试图运行X CONFIGURATION找我要ROOT密码。
输入密码后屏幕出现一行乱码！然后重复以上步骤。

这三项主要优化geforce2 mx的哪些性能？ 第一,三项我不清楚,第二项是打开nvidia显卡的所谓的"数字振动"功能,这个功能和gamma颜色修正功能有点类似,可以通过软件模拟改变亮度或对比度(效果不是很好),让那些老化的显示器多熬上一段时间,这个功能在win版的驱动里同样也有
这些选项一般都不优化性能,只会做一些特殊效果(譬如鼠标阴影,2x或4x的3D图像反锯齿等)或降低系统性能(降低AGP的速度等)以换取稳定性等,因此,没必要的话就不要加了 建议你用 rpmbuild --rebuild 重新编译一下内核再安装
建议是在命令行装 记得好像是先装 NVIDIA_GLX-1.0-3123.i386 吧!!!

初始话nvidia驱动模块失败,按官方的安装说明,请下载src.rpm包自己rebuild或下载tar.gz包自己编译安装,方法见官方的安装说明 是用rpmbuild --rebuild 吗！
那么

NVIDIA_GLX-1.0-3123.i386
这两个文件先装哪个？ 不要用这两个包，重新下载*.tar.gz的两个源码包，编译安装。 是不是最好不要在X-server下安装显卡驱动？ 无所谓啦，不过最好不要用rpm包，虽然有一两个是可用的。 如果我下载*.tar.gz是不是一定要下RH LINUX 8专用的？别的可以吗？比如7.3的。 哪有src包下载？ 在 nvidia.com上的tar.gz包(1.0-3123)只分别有一个GLX和一个KERNEL，没的选择，你下了它自己编译吧。我觉得用src包还没有直接用源码包来的方便呢。
