求救:redhat7.2下配置液晶显示器分辨率的问题

先说说我的硬件配置:
显卡是NVIDA GF4 MX440,显示器为HYUNDAI 17’液晶Q17N

我安装完毕redhat72后的显示器默认分辨率是800×640,这实在太难受了,可是无论我怎么修改XF86config,要不只能显示800×600,要不更糟糕,只能显示340×*,我不知道还有什么办法能够达到这一目的,下面请大侠看看我的方法是否正确:

我首先下载了NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-6629-pkg1.run,并且按照README用 :oops: sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-6629-pkg1.run安装了显卡驱动(可是我不知道怎么查看是否安装上??)
然后我使用Xconfigurator进行配置,显卡我选择了nvida GF4(generic),显示器类型由于list中没有相应的显示器类型,所以我使用custom设置了说明书上正确的水平/垂直扫描频率,设置结束后还依然是600×400,无法工作到1024×768以上!

我也尝试修改过xf86config,但是修改后进入Xwindow依然无法工作到1024×768以上。我都快发狂了,我不知道还有什么方法,请大侠帮帮我吧。
