【求助】FC4下的网卡(Ali M5261)不能激活

用硬盘安装的办法装上了FC4，但是网卡设置却出现了一下问题。

（1）点击：
【桌面】-->【系统设置】-->【网络】
在出现的对话框中，“硬件”选项卡中可以找到我网卡（Ali M5261 fast Ethernet Controller），但是当我新建一个以太网卡，设定好IP后，却出现带“×”的对话框，提示如下(引号内的)：
“dmfe device eth0 doesnot seem to be present,delaying initialization.”

（2）点击：
【桌面】-->【系统设置】-->【RedHat网络设置】
根本弹不出对话框，真奇怪。

另外：
可以用ifconfig设置ip、掩码，同时可以ping到局域网中的其他机器。虽然我设定好了DNS，但还是无法用浏览器上网。重启后，用ifconfig查看，ip、掩码等数据又变成了127.0.0.1（修改失效）。

我忘了说了，我用的笔记本是BENQ JoyBook 3000M，网卡型号是Ali fast ethernet controller。

我当然是在root下操作的。
而且，我在终端下用“ifup”命令也试过，得到相同结果。

另外：
这里的“dmfe device”是什么意思？

问题终于有眉目了：
是网卡驱动没有装对，我的网卡"Ali M5261 Ethernet Controller"所要的驱动是Tulip family network device的驱动，而系统提供的是"dmfe"的驱动。

我在网上搜索到了改网卡驱动的源码"uli526x.c        "，按照源码自带的readme安装，可是，又出现了问题——编译出错，提示是缺少某文件（msr.c）。

是否编译驱动模块还需要搭建编译环境呢？我下一步应该怎么办？

我的网卡问题终于解决了，感谢的ULi Electronics Inc 的Peer Chan为为我提供的M5261网卡驱动源码与相关安装文件。
我之前用的编译驱动模块的方法不太适用，这回Peer Chan给了我专门的Makefile和install.sh。
我终于可以在FC4下浏览网页了

在这里我将源码附带的安装文件贴出来，让大家看看Peer Chan为我们简化后的linux驱动安装方法，就和在Windows下一样简单：

1.copy uli526x.c Makefile install.sh to a directory in linux
2.in the directory, type "make" then the driver image uli526x.ko will be generated
3.type "./install" then the lan driver will be installed
4.restart the system, then the driver will be installed successfully with the correct mode
