我用的是firefly的Xft2方案，只需要很少的手工修改。效果不错，但仍然还有些不如意的地方，希望各位大侠不吝赐教。
准备工作：
1。在浏览器中输入firefly.idv.tw/setfont-xft/,然后进入你Mandrake9.1目录，下载以下文件：
fontconfig-2.2.0-2mdk.firefly.i586.rpm
libfontconfig1-2.2.0-2mdk.firefly.i586.rpm
libfontconfig1-devel-2.2.0-2mdk.firefly.i586.rpm
freetype2-2.1.4-3mdk.firefly.i586.rpm
freetype2-devel-2.1.4-3mdk.firefly.i586.rpm
Xft2-2.1.1-3mdk.firefly.i586.rpm
2。准备好simsun.ttc和tahoma.ttf,tahomabd.ttf这三个字体文件。(win2000 or winxp)。
3。打开一个控制台，SU，取得root权限。
好了，现在让我们开工吧。
1。复制simsun.ttc和tahoma.ttf,tahomabd.ttf到随便一个目录，我是放在~/tmp里的，反正最后也用不着。
2。将simsun.ttc改为simsun.ttf
3。输入drakfont，打开Mandrake字体管理器。“高级选项”->“增加"->选取刚才的tmp目录->”安装列表“->"确定"。ok,现在字体安装完毕。输入fc-cache --force，现在你可以在字体列表中看到simsun和tahoma了吧。现在就可以选simsun看看效果了。
4。开始安装Xft2的驱动。rpm -Uvh --force --nodeps free*,rpm -Uvh --force --nodeps Xft*,rpm -Uvh --force --nodeps lib*,rpm -Uvh --force --nodeps fontconfig*。
5。现在simsun已经可以显示粗体了。不过就是英文字太难看了。所以要修改几个文件。
首先是/etc/fonts/fonts.conf。修改后如下，和其他朋友的改法不太一样，这样改动更少。

然后就是打开/etc/X11/Xresources,将最后的Xft.dpi的值改为96。这样就能很好的显示9号宋体了。
6。现在打开控制中心，将字体全部改成Tahoma 9号。OK了。
其它应用程序的字体修改请看精华贴，我就不再多写了。
这样改了之后，基本上就很美观了，只是英文字还是有点糊，另外Mozilla的菜单中的英文只能用宋体，很难看。请各位高手指教。(详见图)。 |
