惨了，无法进入gentoo了。

不知道什么原因，我的/etc文件夹被损坏，很多文件无法ls，只有少数几个文件是完好的。现在系统进不去了。
不知道有什么办法修复啊？

我用fsck检查修复过了，但是还是进不去。我只记得最后一行的提示：
signal 11 no init available.

没有不见，只是ls的时候，很多文件都是：I/O error.
无法使用那些文件。

i/o error, poor, u fs seems corrupted. u have to reinstall now. which type of fs u use? i think this is nothing wrong with gentoo.

I used ext3.
but I WANT to use reiserfs now.
i expect it be faster and safer than ext3

for /boot, u had better use ext3, that can save u many pain.
for / and others, u can use reiserfs. i am using and i feel great.

我觉得可能是硬盘出现坏道了，单纯的文件系统出错fsck很容易修复的
对于gentoo的用户，由于/var/tmp/要被非常频繁的使用，建议放到一个独立的分区上面，这样即使出错，根分区也安然无恙。

i do not think so. hard drive is not so easy to have problems. and at least i meet several times that fsck can not fix the fs. u can try to install again and use some tools to check that hard disk. to make sure whether it is fine or not.

出现坏道的可能性还是比较小的。但是文件系统坏掉就很常见了，自己都遇到过一两次。横竖都是坏了。

yes, this is the main feature and shortcoming of gentoo. the fans of my laptop make noise all day because of the compilation of gentoo. that hurts my hearing.
