PHP5和mysql5 安装错误

我在  magiclinux 2.01 环境下安装最php5 和 mysql5。
可以启动 mysql.
但在就配置 php5 时就出错了。
出错信息：

checking for MySQL UNIX socket location... no

我的安装的版本：
php 5.20
mysql-max-5.0.27-linux-i686
apache 2.23
如何才能使用mysql  ，请大家指教。
