我用mandrake9.1,我把一个分区挂在/home上，并建了一个用户abc，则home下有abc目录，在这目录下我放了很多重要数据。现在我要重装系统，还是把分区挂到/home（不格式化），仍然建一个用户abc，那么原来的abc目录是否会被覆盖，即数据是否会丢失？这些数据对我很重要！

should be ok. useradd will not delete existed dir.
but do not kick me if sth unwanted happends.
backup the data before installation is the safest way. even a simpe error duing installation can corrupt u data.

备份是不太现实的，因为里面是几十G的电影！

why not install a new linux and then mount it as a data dir. not home.
