phpMyAdmin的问题

我的机子上安装了phpMyAdmin-2.50,在我配置好后在浏览器里输入地址,出现如下信息:
服务器 localhost

错误

MySQL 返回:

Client does not support authentication protocol requested by server. Consider upgrading MySQL client
请问我应该怎么修改呢?
怎样更新 MySQL client?
