关于内核升级升级时遇到的lilo不能运行的问题

大家好, 我在编译升级内核的时候,按照步骤一步步做下来.在/etc目录下我没发现lilo.conf文件,却有个文件后面多了个后缀是lilo.conf.anaconda.我仍然在这个文件里写好配置.可是保存好出来运行lilo命令却提示: /etc/lilo.conf : no such file or directory.

  我只好试试把lilo.conf.anaconda文件的改为lilo.conf,再出来运行lilo后,出现下面提示:

  waring :device 0x0306 exceeds 1024 cylinder limit

Fatal : sector 63496066 too large for linear mode ( try 'lba32' instaed )

我不知道这究竟是怎么回事, 一直没解决.希望大虾教我!

which linux u use? which version u use? do u use lilo or grub?

把/et/lilo.conf中的
linear改为lba32试试

my thought is that, he is upgrading his kernel, so his linux is bootable already; so he must have a bootloader already, but now he does not have lilo.conf, so i am afraid that he is using grub instead of lilo. so do not simply try to use the lilo. check whether u are using grub or lilo first.
