为什么登录两次才有声音？

我用Red Hat 9，无论是自带声卡驱动，还是我装的alsa驱动，第一次登录总是没有声音，注销后重新登录，就有声音了。这是怎么回事呢？怎么解决？

Not sure whether this is your problem.

If you are using some sound server (arts in KDE or esd in Gnome), the sound server will not release the sound card until timeout.  E.g., in control panel of KDE, there is a setting "auto suspend when idle for". Setting a small value to this option will make the sound server release the card quickly.
