内核升级编译过程中是否会修改 XF86Cconfig 配置？

我编译过后，新内核可以用了。但我保留了老内核，用老内核登陆后登陆x window，发现分辨率改成了800x600。oo里字体也变成了方块。
打开XF86Config配置文件，发现原来我装NVIDIA驱动时改的nv->nvidia,又变成nv。分辨率里也删去了1024x768一项。而且把我加上的字体路径删掉了。显然这些就是为什么我登陆X WINDOW会与以前不同。
我想知道的是在我编译新内核过程中是否会修改我的XF86Config配置？？
不知道大家在编译新内核成功后用老内核登陆X WINDOW是否会发生变化？？

i never meet such situation before. and i do not think kernel upgrade will do this. there must be some other trick here.

不很肯定，只是瞎说而已。还是等大虾吧，哈哈

x may automatically change xfree86config

but nv will not automatically modify xfree86config

1) recompile kernel
2) compile nv
3) startx

right?

so tany, u can try if u really want to know the reason.

The kernel-2.4.21 is ok after i install the driver NVIDIA-4963.Because in my XF86Config the "Load" is "nvidia".
But the old kernel-2.4.20 can't load it .How to make the two kernel can load the "nvidia"?

本人试过就是分别启动,分别装内核驱动,最好是编译,for x 的装一次,for kernel
的装两次,就是每个内核装一次.

yes, nv is this way.
