什么版本的Linux？
RH8以上可以用redhat-config-xfree86
ML1.1f可以用mc-xfree86

是ＲＨ8的，选择linux进去之后一路都ＯＫ的。就是在快到登录页面的时候闪了几下，然后出现以下提示一：

选择Ｙｅｓ继续，出现以下提示二：

选择“exit”退出，然后会提示三：

选择yes，提示输入密码，照做。然后提示四：
I will now try to restart the X server again.
选择OK，还是像开始那样闪了几下。然后出现刚才的提示一，这一次我选择了No。接着就出现提示三，我又选择了No，出现提示：
I will disable this X server for now.Restart GDM when it is configured correctly.
选择OK，出现了命令模式，要求登录系统。

整个过程就是这样子了，大家帮忙看看有没有办法救回？

我在本站找到了解决的方法，不过跟着做到一半的时候就下不去了，不知道为什么的，有没有人试过这种情况又解决了的，救救我呀！！

我于昨晚不幸遇到了和你一样的问题,产生的原因不知道为什么,可能是杀了几个进程.又按提示删除了一个/tmp/X0-lock的文件,然后当时我重新起动后就和你描述的一样,幸好误打误撞搞好了,原理还不十分明白,讨论一下.首先我找到了和你一样的文章,然后按文章发现xfs居然没起动,于是屏蔽掉在XF86Config-4中屏蔽掉unix/:7100这一行,加入/etc/11R6/..../misc的字体路径,然后重新启动机器,居然用root可以启动x-window了,可按alt+ctrl+backspace毽不行,我删除了加入的一行,将unix/:7100换到后面,然后重新作汉化,重新启动几次居然可以了,但汉字不对,后来查到unix/:7100一定要放到后面,否则认为是点阵字体,换过来就好了.
当然其中过程很复杂,原理也不明白,花了我半天多的时间,但肯定只是字体服务器的问题.比较乱,主要是原因不清楚,发生此文体的不少,关键可能只要重新配置好字体就可以了.

听说redhat和suse都要减少对个人用户的支持了,曼德拉草可能是不错的选择
不过我没用过,我不喜欢rh8和后面的版本的专用命令,还是用的rh7.2,不过rh7.3
可能支持更好,至少在汉化NTFS方面
