为什么libc.so.6装不上呢?

我装的是redhat9.0,起初没有安装VNC,现在想装,但是说我需要libc.so.6,于是就去下载了,但是装的时候有说我已经装了,请问怎么回事啊?不会搞得要重装系统吧.
向各位高手请教了

我安装了:
rpm -ivh glibc-2.3.2-27.9.7.i386.rpm

说需要我再试着装VNC,还是照样libc.so.6.
