启动新编译内核2.4.20时出错？

我在重新启动后，系统提示如下：
warning:unable to open an initial console
kernel panic: no init found. try passing init=option to kernel.

系统就停在这里了
我用的是GRUB启动，而且在编译内核的过程中没有报错误

GRUB如下：
　　root （hd0,8）
　　kernel /vmlinuz-2.4.20 ro root=/dev/hda9
　　initrd /boot/initrd-2.4.20.img

你把/dev/hda9 设为/dev/hda8
或者你可能没有把你用的文件系统编进内核里！
