请教一下关于重编内核后x的问题 ！！

本人在rh9下重编译了系统本来的内核2.4.20 ，内核的编译和安装是没什么问题，一切都是那样的正常，连网也可以！但是，在cli模式下启动不了x－windows，把运行级换成5也是如此。在此之前编译2.6.1内核成功，安装也成功，可以正常启动x。但自编译2.4.20内核后就不行了，不管用旧的内核还是新的内核2.6.1，都和重编后的2.4.20的内核一样，在cli下返回如下的一堆信息：
（本人在x的相关目录下查看了一些文件，有上几个字符链接文件是错误的，显示出红色。）

请问，这是什么原因，我在编译内核的时候把对中文的支持都编进去了！！
但我没有在编译和安装成功后修改过关于x的文件。
   能不能帮助一下呢？？请指点一二，感激！！！！
