emerge firefox要装这么多东西？

搞到我现在还没有编译完，原来想在mozilla网站上下载一个firefox的bin算了。不过安装的时候好像可以每个用户都安装在自己的目录下，每个人都安装一遍？？

firefox now use gtk2, and the list is quite short to me.
libbonobo is needed by most gnome programs.
mozilla will cost you about 3-4 hours while all the others for less than 1 hour

你可以用firefox的binary package

我查了文档，gentoo官方不提供binary的pre-built的packge，但是怎么还是有emerge -k的选项，如果自己不提供自己的prebuilt的portage的话。那么官方的服务器上会有一些binary的包给你下载么？如果有的话，我怎么知道哪些包有binary哪些没有呢？

过两天要给一个朋友装linux，但是朋友不习惯花很多时间编译，所以我在考虑是不是要用debian，还是gentoo可以有全套的binary包emerge。

并不是每一个Package都有Binary的. 大的软件像Firefox, KDE和OpenOffice(openoffice-bin)就有再Gentoo的Package CD上.

如果是要帮别人装电脑的话可以在自己的电脑上用
$ emerge --buildpkgonly <package name>
来建Binary Package.
(例子: $ emerge --buildpkgonly mozilla-firefox)

完整的预编译包要用$买的
有一些大的软件提供预编译包
每次gentoo发布新版的时候会有一张用预编译好的包制作的package cd，不过包含的软件不多
