Light weight word processing p

Hi folks,

I'm now building BLFS 6.1 and searching for a light-weight word processing package which can read and edit M$ .doc documents.  OOo will be too heavy taking long time to load and occupying huge space.

Some folks recommended AbiWood.  Does it support Chinese editing nicely?

Tks for your advice.

I tried AbiWord on RedHat 3~4 years ago but not so good on importing .doc document.  Re-arranging format was required in order to read the document comfortably.  I don't know about its latest edition.

Is AbiWood good for Chinese editing?  TIA

I think is not. Maybe the oo and staro is better

Hi linky_fan,

StarOffice and OOo are good but not light-weight.  TextMaker is a good light-weight word processor but not Open Source.
