我怎么装不了VMware Tools

我的是4.0版的
点击菜单“file-install vmware tools“
出来一个对话框
说Installing the VMware Tools package will greatly enhance graphics and mouse performance in your virtual machine.

WARNING: You cannot install the VMware Tools package until the guest operating system is running.  If your guest operating system is not running, select Cancel and install the VMware Tools package later.
我的magic linux已经在运行了
就点击install
然后就没反应了
怎么办？？？

必须在字符界面下运行./install才可以！
不过我的也有文体，我配置的时候提示没有安装GCC，请问怎么安装GCC阿？我下载了，但是不会安装！郁闷！

moslinux

cd /mnt/cdrom
dir 就可以发现vmware tools 压缩包
tar xvzf 文件  解压后，运行其中的install.pl即可。不过好象比较麻烦。
