I CAN'T INPUT CHINESE,I WANT TO KNOW WHY...

i download  xsim and xsimdata from this net ,and i install it.but i still can't input chinese using xsim.it seemed that xsim not work.i press CTRL + SPACE in xwindow , can't active the xsim,somebody help me! i am using GUN

XSIM: failed create font :-misc-simsun-medium-r-normal-*-14-*-*-*-*-*-iso8859-1,-misc-simsun-medium-r-normal-*-14-*-*-*-*-*-gbk-0

when i tpye 'xsim' in a teminal window,the screen show me this,i copyed all the window98' fonts to the /usr/share/fonts,i still lost some font?

修改/usr/local/xsim/etc/xsimrc的字体设置,将里面所有类似下面的行:
        #FONT_NAME        "AUTO"
        FONT_NAME        "-misc-simsun-medium-r-normal-*-14-*-*-*-*-*-iso8859-1,-misc-simsun-medium-r-normal-*-14-*-*-*-*-*-gbk-0"

改成
        FONT_NAME        "AUTO"
       #FONT_NAME        "-misc-simsun-medium-r-normal-*-14-*-*-*-*-*-iso8859-1,-misc-simsun-medium-r-normal-*-14-*-*-*-*-*-gbk-0"

单拷贝字体进某个目录是无法在全部程序中调用的,建议你去中文版先看看那些关于美化的帖子,按里面的方法才能用上simsun

如果你是新手,还是建议你用回原来的minichinput输入法好一点

i delet xsim and xsim,and choose the minichinput.
but i install the minichinput  rpm and i still can't active this chinese input neither i press CTRL + SPACE or CTRL + SHIFT,how can i active the minichinput?
i am not intall the minichinput when i install the linux 8.0

可能的原因有:
1,你的locale不是中文,你在终端里运行一下locale命令,贴出结果
2,你的minichinput没有运行,你在终端里运行一下chinput 命令,结果也贴出来
3,你的输入法环境变量没设置好,vi ~/.bash_profile
加入这行试试:
export XMODIFIERS=chinput

你的系统如果是rh8,将/etc/sysconfig/i18n的内容改成这样,然后再在终端运行chinput试试如果出错,将终端里的信息再贴出)
