SCIM Problem on FC3

Hello ,everyone
I am a supper linux dummy
My system is FC3,and i have install scim-1.0.2-1kh.FC3.i586 und scim-tables-zhhk-0.4.3-2kh.noarch,
my language have set to english (hong kong) ,
but it just doesn`t work,when i type ctrl+space.
i use gnome,
can anyone help me?

your locale should be en_HK.utf8, and set XMODIFIER variable to "@im=scim"

put the following line in your .bash_profile

export LANG=en_HS.utf8
export XMODIFIERS=@im=SCIM

logout and login again

Is it ok?
When i type ctrl+space , i still only can input English
P.S. I am running VMWare WS 4.5.2

You don't need reboot, just log out then login again.

i can guess it should be en_HK.utf8  :-)
but i still can´t type chinese , till now still pure english > <
no matter i reboot or relogin ...
ps aux | grep scim  only have grep scim result which means it don´t run on startup

when i type scim on Run Application ,the the keyboard icon appears on the taskbar,
but whatever i type ctrl+space ,ctrl+shift ,nothing happen

what should i do
