安装debian遇到的问题

昨天我装的debian。使用的是基本安装。一张光盘的版本。。。
但是我选择的那些软件装上之后似乎没有反应，就像没装过一样
比如，我选择的软件包下载完了似乎也自动安装完了但是输入startx和xdm都提示命令找不到
还有，我手动下载的apt-get install x-window-system-core gnome-core gdm
我也不知道是不是成功了，执行完后竟然没有反应我输入startx和xdm也没有反应

已经解决了，现在是桌面乱码的问题，中文没法正常显示

装zhcon，然后运行即可。

我用的是
apt-get install ttf-arphic-*
一样可以解决
你说的办法我测试过，不行啊
麻烦你，目前我正在安装fcitx。。我已经apt-get install fcitx了
麻烦你告诉我怎么配置好么？或者相关链接也行

写到环境变量里，然后运行一次 fcitx

vi ~/.gnomerc
添加
export XMODIFIERS="@im=fcitx"
export XIM=fcitx
export XIM_PROGRAM=fcitx
/usr/bin/fcitx&

还有设置locale为zh_CN就可以了

我已经用root修改了/etc/profile
但是没有用啊
下边就是我用普通用户复制的修改后的profile

修改完了之后，我重启计算机回到debianLinux.....
发现没有改变。。。我可真郁闷啊
我曾经用gedit看过这个profile文件，会不会有影响呢？
我曾经装过fcitx在fc2下成功，但是，debian的我怎么也装不好。。。。
麻烦你都多想办法了，我还是个菜鸟。。真不好意思
