UNIX is designed for server,and SCO,Solaris....these system are all UNIX.UNIX is not high-end    It is professinal.

DOS is backward,it must be swept out.

Slackware is the oldest surviving Linux,it is developed by Pat himself,and it is free.But Slackware has a lot of users abroad.

RH is the largest business Linux system,they are not same.[/quote]
Don't forget FreeBSD,it's development fast very much in desktop....
We can to visit it in bbs of Tsinghua University....

i personally love SuSE linux very much
and its 9.2 really impressed me

i am try to make a internet share server at home which is based on SuSE 9.0
feel so great when i am configuring it

just have a little problem with it which is when i SSH it, and run Yast, the display is so strange.........

BTW:WindowsXP 64-bit Edition对32位程序的兼容性还有待改善——执行效率很低。鼠标挪动都很吃力。经常产生一些莫名其妙的高消耗系统资源事件……

不过。。。。。。我在Redhat下用Maya4.5的性能与渲染速度比Win2K/XP快了不知几倍。。。在Win32下还有可能当掉。。。****哦
