请问我该如何上网？？

以前在学校里，有个认证程序特麻烦，在Linux下还要装一个mdc-ssd什么的认证程序。现在在家了没那东西了（我在家是通过局域网）。我按照windows下设置IP，网关之类的，并且新建了一个和windows下一样的一个用户和密码。只有一个地方不一样，Mirosoft Proxy Client这个东西在windows下装了就能上网，但在Linux下没这东西，怎么办？我记得在windows下还没装那个代理时以访问161.161.1.1这是网页，但在Linux下不能，请问这是怎么回事？
像我这种情况，从局域王网上网该如何设置？
