请大家帮忙看看，编译内核后无法挂载root fs，机器无法启动

我的系统是RH7.1编译2.4.20内核，编译完成后启动linux时提示不能挂载/分区, 小键盘的caps lock和scroll lock指示灯不停的闪，电脑死机，按任何键没响应。为什么会这样？我想使用新的内核，该如何处理？

fstab里不要用label，改用/dev/hdax 试试看

what is u root fs format? on a scsi disk or ide disk? make sure your new kernel support the file system format in kernel and make sure u kernel support scsi and scsi card if u use scsi.
make sure u lilo or grub conf file correct, as cnhnin said.
