如何安装kernel-devel的问题

我在执行yum install kernel kernel-devel时，出现一下信息

..
..
can not find a valid baseurl for repo: updates-released.


直接执行rpm的文件，但不知执行...i586....还是...i686....

try了...i586....，但安装nvidia显卡时失败，找不到kernel source之类的信息？

我该怎么办？

Check whether you have direcory /usr/src/kernels/linux-2.6.xxxxxxx/.
If have, you can make a link to such direcory as /usr/src/linux because gcc will find header files from here. That command is "ln -sf /usr/src/kernels/linux-2.6.xxxxxxx/ /usr/src/linux".
Then run NVIDIA.xxxxxxxxx.run to install nvidia driver.

thanks very much for the reply pal. i've tried the method above, but i still got the problem by some bloody reson i dont know.
well the problem i got is that after i ran the nvidia....run with the kernel path, the driver seems like to be installed, however, after all, a error message have been displayed. shows that the kernel i installed was probably WRONG. as i said i couldnt run the install command "yum install kernel kernel-devel" tho. (dont know why?)i did install the kernel-devel.....i586.. by just clicking the rpm file from the X, which i do believe not quite ringt tho.

so i just want to know how to make the "yum install kernel kernel-devel" works, and is there any thing i need to do before running it??

or is it ok to run the rpm file by just click the icon from the X??

is the i586 the right one?? and by the way, how to uninstall it, coz i wanna install the i686 for a try, but it seems like not avilaible untill the old kernel devel has been removed??

so WHAT SHOULD I DO?!?
