This plan is just a first draft. Possible major themes for the 2.10 release are
o Platform consolidation
o Printing support
o Introspection
The platform consolidation plans are explained in detail on the Project Ridley page. Some ideas about printing are contained in Owens talk on the future of rendering in GNOME. Information about the full introspection plans can be found e.g. in bug #139486 or in this mailing list thread.
Tentative schedule
There is no schedule yet, but there seems to be some consensus to aim for a 9 month release cycle, which would give a May 2006 target date, skipping GNOME 2.14, but far enough ahead of the likely GNOME 2.16 release to make the release team feel comfortable.
