大虾,问一下.是不是安装了显卡驱动以后显示器分辨率就可以有多一些的选择?

我的显示器是17寸的,没有牌子,显卡也是generic...

分辨率问题一般是显示器未识别引起的。到硬件版翻贴或搜索一下，可以让你上到1024x768。

建议装，更好地发挥显卡的效能。尤其在需要用到3D等方面，没有安装的话简直是一场恶梦。

ps。安装驱动后还可以使屏幕避免偏移问题。

nv的都是通用驱动。公社的自由软件区找找。

怎么设置呢,装的是NVDIA 7676,安装完了,按照在etc/x11/xorg.conf 中作如下修改:
将"module" 区中Load "dri"去掉,将"device"区中drive从"nv"换成""nvidia,
但是重起后就不能进入x了,系统提示用config工具还原了我原来的设置,才能进入...

原话如下:

If you have a working X config file for a different driver (such as the "nv"
or "vesa" driver), then simply edit the file as follows.

Remove the line:

   Driver "nv"
  (or Driver "vesa")
  (or Driver "fbdev")

and replace it with the line:

Driver "nvidia"

Remove the following lines:

Load "dri"
Load "GLCore"

In the "Module" section of the file, add the line (if it does not already
exist):

Load "glx"

ls /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers/nvidia*
如果装上了，会有
/usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers/nvidia_drv.o
/usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers/nvidia_drv.so

看看你的驱动是不是真的装上了

八九是驱动没装上先要编译内核 /usr/src/kernels/2.6.* 在字符模式下make oldconfig

再装驱动
