使用公社Simsun RH8的RPM包出现问题

安装步骤：
1.到文本模式
2.到/usr/local下建立zhfonts目录
3.rpm -ivh fans-simsun-rh8-2002.10.30-4.i386.rpm

安装时的提示：
[root@zgtest zhfonts]# rpm -ivh fans-simsun-rh8-2002.10.30-4.i386.rpm
Preparing...             ########################################### [100%]
mkdir: cannot create directory `/usr/local/freetype.old': File exists

安装后重启Linux后，来来文本模式下执行#startx，但失败了。。。

错误提示：

只有把RPM包删除后才能重新进入X界面

拜托，看准软件说明一点，需要自己拷贝simsun字体！！

but can't open openoffice.org and can't use xsim eg:

我忘了在我的步骤里写，但我是拷了simsun.ttf字体进/usr/local/zhfonts中，也修改了它的权限的。。
但是就是不行

那为什么无法在网页中或其它地方打开输入法呢?
并且openoffice.org也无法启动,
类似于装了FLASH插件后与minichinput冲突的IE崩溃
我就是为了打开有simsun字体的word文档才去装字体的

检查一下，确认是ttf而不是ttc

另外：
我是用FTP软件从Win传到Linux下的。。。
请问FTP是用bin模式还是用ascii模式传

1.ls /usr/local/zhfonts/simsun.ttf，如果真有文件存在，那就不清楚怎么回事了

2.传文件的话，最好还是选bin模式，比较稳妥

把这个东西删掉了,终于又可以用了,但字体仍然是老的,唉,为什么不能两全其美呢?

确实只有使用Bin模式才行。。。现在已可以正常使用了
