好象没有rpm包放出了,只有一个run的包,估计安装方便了很多:
简明安装步骤:
STEP 1: Review the NVIDIA Software License and documentation. You will need to accept this license prior to downloading any files.

STEP 2: Download the Driver File
Download - NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-4349.run



Note: If you are using SuSE 8.1 or earlier, or if you are using United Linux 1.0, we recommend installing from RPMs built by SuSE.  These are available via ftp. If you install via the .run file, XFree86 configuration with SaX2/YaST2 will not work correctly.



STEP 3: Check dependencies
The dependencies are listed in the README. It is important to note that the NVIDIA driver set requires XFree version 4.0.1 or greater. If this is not available on your linux distribution, please go to the XFree86 web site (www.xfree86.org).


STEP 4: Install
Type "sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-4349.run" to install the driver.
See the README (text) for more detailed instructions. If you have any questions or problems, please check the linux discussion forum. If you don't find an answer to your question there, you can send email to [email protected].

FEATURES OF NVIDIA-INSTALLER

o Uninstall: Driver installation will backup any conflicting files
  and record what new files are installed on the system.  You may run:

    nvidia-installer --uninstall
  
  to uninstall the current driver; this will remove any files that
  were installed on the system, and restore any backed up files.
  Installing new drivers implicitly uninstalls any previous drivers.

o Auto-Updating: If you run:

    nvidia-installer --latest
  
  the utility will connect to NVIDIA's FTP site, and report the latest
  driver version and the url to the latest driver file.
  
  If you run:

    nvidia-installer --update
  
  the utility will connect to NVIDIA's FTP site, download the most recent
  driver file, and install it.

o Multiple user interfaces: The installer will use an ncurses-based
  user interface if it can find the correct ncurses library, otherwise,
  it will fall back to a simple commandline user interface.  To disable
  use of the ncurses user interface, use the option '--ui=none'.

o Updated Kernel Interfaces: The installer has the ability to
  download updated precompiled kernel interfaces from the NVIDIA
  FTP site (for kernels that were released after the NVIDIA driver
  release).

Magic Linux的XFree-4.3升级已经完成。

一个没注意，上当了。原来还需要在线下载，不爽。现在上网方式改了，又是自己编译的内核。nv提供的这个驱动装不上，又不能上网……凄惨。刚开始一看是菜单式的操作又能自动卸载老版本的驱动，还正高兴呢。居然……。还不如以前的方式

呵呵,不用另外下载,6M大的一个包,你以为它单是界面代码
它已经包括了源码包了
你用--exract参数就可以自动解压出源码包了
当然,你可以让它自己编译,当提示你是否在线下载编译好的驱动时,你选择no,然后它就提示你是否自己编译了

是内核源码包里的文件,你检查一下你的内核源码包装上没有
太长了,贴不上来

RH8。我用的是2.4.20的内核自己编译的。之前的4191没一点问题，就是用了这个东西卸载了老版的驱动以后在安装的时候出现这个问题了
