Process Scheduling in Linux 2.5

Presented by Rick Lindsley at Oregon State University. This talk examined recent work in the scheduler for 2.5. It compared the 2.4 scheduler with the new O(1) scheduler and discussed both problems the new scheduler solved, and problems it introduced. Rick highlighted work underway and work to be done, including, in a very general form, some interesting results and conclusions that were only a few weeks old.

The State of 2.5 Linux
