新手在安装大型软件时遇到的设置环境变量的问题！

我安装的是Star-cd 4.02 for   linux
系统是fedora
安装成功(运行setup后按照指示做了)到了/opt/starcd
然后看到里面的readme写到：
The STAR-CD environment for all machines is defined by running the "setstar"
script. The "$STARDIR/etc/hardware.ini" preference file defines all necessary
environmental variables for hardware setup such as location of compilers and
license files. The "$STARDIR/etc/software.ini" preference file defines the
default settings for STAR-CD and other third party software
he system or STAR administrator MUST edit these preference files to suit
the local hardware and software configurations.

hardware.ini是这样的：

由于我是新手，不太懂这些，但他的意思我是明白的，要我设置成与我的系统相符的情况。问题是我的glibc的版本比他的高，是否可以呢？
我该如何去修改环境变量呢？
如果有人会的话，请帮下我，由于工作的原因这个东西是很需要的。谢谢了

貌似你应该退回到RH9，这个软件不支持2.6内核和新版的glibc。
