哎，我现在正在为用上nvidia的驱动程序而烦。用xorg 1.4时，装上nvidia 96.43.07可以正常进入X，但不能使用xv模式，也就不能对视频画面进行亮度、色调、饱和度、对比度调节。更新到1.5后，可以安装nvidia驱动，但连X也不能启动，有以下出错信息：

为什么tvtime不能用左右箭头键调节音量？原来用的快捷键多数无效了！

一直都在用smart更新，我的包除了xorg*都是最新的。就是不敢更新xorg开头的包。因为前几天因为更新它们进不了X而重装了一次。

还有个问题，进入系统后没声音，必须要su - ,运行一下alsaconf才有声音。

GF7000的显卡, 按说应该能进啊. 一进X就死掉了.

不知道为什么F3到F6的tty关了.

开那么多tty也没什么用处吧。
我原来有一阶段，无论装什么发行版，都是一进X就死，gf5700，安装官方驱动就好了，你可以试试。

俺同学在安装过程中把64万色等那4个框都选上了.....

呵呵，现在MI还有好多地方设计的不人性化。其实很多系统的问题，在安装阶段注意下的话，就可以避免了，比如vmware下不能启动X的问题。

这个很是问题，在VM中没装VM TOOLS好像不能开到1024*768的，硬开的话就是进不了X，我昨天试过了，开640*480，色彩也不能开高了，后来没再弄了，有事还是硬盘直接来吧

查了查是少了个补丁. 这个bug见于国外archlinux社区, 解决方法是
XORG_VERSION_PATCH > 2
        mode = xf86GTFMode(p->HDisplay, p->VDisplay, v, 0, 0);
#else
        mode = xf86CVTMode(p->HDisplay, p->VDisplay, v, FALSE, FALSE);
#endif
...........直接修改xorg也可

更新了一下xorg-x11-server* 出现了和以前出现过的同样了情况：

rpmdel了以xorg-x11-sever开头的包，降回了rc2盘里原来了包。 能进入X, 可是一进X,USB鼠标不能用了，键盘也只有ctl+alt+del ,或者ctl+alt+F1可以用，触摸板倒是正常。所以来windows下发帖，实在是迫不得以。

以前以为是驱动的问题，现在看来还是X的这几个包的问题吧。

nvidia的官方驱动请用最新版本，老版本不行的。
