I found your contact details as developers on the Magic Linux website.

My name is Shane Coughlan, and I am the Regional Director Asia of Open Invention Network.  OIN was set up to help protect and support innovation on Linux Systems by building cooperation in the area of patents. The founding members are NEC, Sony, IBM, Red Hat, Novell and Philips.

OIN has a strategy to deter patent trolls or aggressive companies from the Linux eco-system.  We do this through a royalty-free licensee community that creates a link between OIN and Linux-related individuals, projects or companies. We are encouraging a software patent aggression "no fly zone".

I was wondering if you would like to cooperate with us.  The only thing we ask is that you agree not to use any Linux System patents offensively against other licensees.  There are no other costs or conditions. Every new member we get helps to strengthen the future for Linux adoption and use.

In exchange for working with us, we offer a strong deterrent against aggressive companies or trolls.  We also offer advice and support around innovation.

If you have any questions I am pleased to answer them.

这个我不是很明白：不用任何的linux系统专利攻击反对其它的授权，谁英文好点的帮助推敲下。

查了一些OIN的相关资料。貌似就是加入它以后，就可以免费地使用它已经获取的很多公司提供的专利，但是必须相对地同意不得向其它Linux厂商和使用者主张专利权。

楼主不妨回复给这位负责人，再询问清楚啊……

也許是說加入后，不得對於其他Linux發行版（Linux內部？）提起任何專利訴訟？

Thank you! I am sorry that i write back so later! Today, I use dictionary
write back this letter. I dont't know this sentence:
"agree not to use any Linux System patents offensively against other
licensees",this other licensees is what?other linux licensees?

MagicLinux is a thinking, expectant being, but Magic Linux have a very small
group. this group is some chinese linux fans's choose. We used spare time
developed and extended Magic Linux without income.

Magic Linux group is very young and chinese Linux development is very slow ,
SO we agree to join in OIN. It will help us raise, thank you.
