求救：没有浮点协处理器，怎么装Linux啊

486SX,没有浮点协处理器，能装吗，
我记得看到过，Linux支持模拟的协处理器，
可是安装时，把软盘里的映象读完后，检查CPU时
却说没有协处理器，也没有模拟设备

安装进行不下去，
哪位高手指点一下啊，谢谢了

what linux distribution and version u want to install? here is the cpu support list for rh9.
Intel -- Pentium, Pentium Pro, Pentium II, Pentium II Xeon, Pentium III, Pentium III Xeon, Pentium IV, Pentium IV Xeon, Celeron AMD - K6, K6 - 2, K6-3, Athlon, Duron, Athlon XP, Athlon MP Cyrix - MII VIA - Cyrix MIII, C3

for u 486. u need make sure the linux support it. many new versions only support 586 at least.

有什么方法能在486上装上吗?
比如编译内核,可是我不会啊,

rh 6.2 possibly supports 486sx. so find a rh 6.2 and install it. after that, try to download a new 2.4.x kenrel to install on it. 2.5.x does not works well on 486.

u can not try the high version, try some low versions.

btw, why u need a linux on 486? router or gateway?

你可以先在别的电脑上编译一个适合你的486sx的内核，然后用安装slackware或者debian或者gentoo那种方法安装系统

安装；老一点版本的系统吧

你的电脑做一个简单的服务器还是可以的
比如dns啊或者路由啊

no, he install old linux version, which is smaller and thus need not too many time. i have experience on 386. not so bad. but if he want to upgrade to kde 3.1 with source code, then...

no, cross compile always means to generate a different architecture kernel on a linux box. for example, u compile an arm kernel on x86.
