请问一下有一种内核文件是pacth-xx的这个怎么用的呢
pacth是什么来
它有什么好处呢
为什么要用这个呢
好像里面是一些代码呢

that is only a name, anybody can name a file as patch-xx, so you have to give me a context to know what kind of file u mention.

if what u mean is sth like http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v2.4/patch-2.4.20.gz
then it is a patch to patch on a 2.4.19 kernel to get a 2.4.20 kernel. the reason to use it is because u already dl a xxMB 2.4.19 kernel, and u only have modem connection, u can download this small file to get a 2.4.20 kernel instead of download xxMB again.

2.4.6和2.4.9但它们都没有支持ext3的功能的
怎会这样的呢
我的系统是用ext3的
之后我在编译时我从2.4.20内核复制了fs的文件夹到2.4.6里了
但那当然是过不了
这又是为什么呢
我想编译2.4.6 or 2.4.9我应该怎么办呢

suggest u use 2.4.21
new functions are kept added to kernel. so old kernel does not have some functionalities. it is normal.
u can not simply copy one dir from a kernel to other kernel. code keeps changing,
there is no ext3 for 2.4.6

there are many good readme in kernel source under documentation. i think if you can read them. most of the questions asked here can be solved easily.

升到3.2.3上
之后我再编译内核2.4.6 或2.4.9都不行
都是在一个地方出错

为什么呢
我的系统是rh7.3
还有我想编译2.6.0是test3的
为什么不能编译呢
我都把gcc升上去了
是不是glic不够高呀

我没有升级gcc
也没有用ext3一下子就升到2.4.6 和2.4.9了
但2.5.xx就真的不行
我上次升级没有把历史记录下来
所以不能放上来了

有可能是module-init-tools 这个太老了
要升级这个才行
不过我还没有试过
好像听你说过的
但我就不知应该把它放在哪里用
我放在/tmp里
是用不了这个的
是不是一定要放在/usr/src/linux里才能用呀
在什么时候用
在编译完用还是之前用?
放在/usr/src/linux  or /usr/src/linux2.xx里用都一样的吗
