Debian每周新闻报道说:
The next Debian Release. Anthony Towns proposed December 1st as the sarge release date. He also explained why the Debian project maintains stable releases at all. He also explains that this release will feature a distributed release management, consisting of at least four people. The use of the experimental distribution is also recommended for cvs snapshots and the like. Of course, Anthony also added a timeline for the sarge release. You're also strongly encouraged to work out your own schedule for packages you work on.

Most DD agree that stability is much more important than those fresh candy.
Debian unstable is another choice for those who want newest software, just as fresh as GENTOO.

what is DD ?
/msg apt dd
<apt> somebody said dd was man dd or dd if=/foo/vmlinuz of=/dev/fd0 to produce a bootable floppy, or a Debian Developer

I tried that sarge, but failed at the start of installation. dunno why, it gives me error at once when it probes me to test or install keyboard and mouse. strange errors, dun remember la. too difficult I think or I am too dumb in Linux. Gentoo is stable as Debian, as I heard. I kinda like fresh meat.

I would rather prefer RedHat when comes to servers and stability, since its RHN is well known for updates.

Stability is not a phenomenon that you could see or hear. It should be proved by usage and time.
I never heard someone compared the stable level between debian stable and gentoo. But some ppl look this between testing/unstable and gentoo.

The link that 黑企鹅 provided also explained why debian should maintain a stable release.

Netcraft report this: "Despite the abscence of funding, Debian is the second most popular Linux distribution we find on internet web sites, surpassed only by Red Hat, and leaving the likes of SuSE and Mandrake in its wake."

The only advantage of RedHat is that RH is a company. This make business men feel better.

BTW, sarge isn't released yet, so don't be supprised that installer do something wrong.
