菜鸟问：为什么serial ATA硬盘启动慢？和内核有关嘛？

小弟也不知道怎么装的，用redhat 9的2.4.20.8就装到serial ATA的硬盘上了，可是在读到下面代码的红色部分的之前特别慢，要一分钟：(请问大侠，是和内核有关嘛？另外，我升级过2.4.22，效果一样：(先谢谢了！

I have solved this problem from another foreign forum.

hdg is condidered to be the secondary slot for SATA. Because mine is solo,I just add "hdg=none" in the grub config file.

看来你启动的时候需要加 IDE 参数.
ide0=0x1f0,0x3f6,14 ide1=0x170,0x376,15 ide2=0 ide3=0......ide9=0
非标准 IDE 接口可能要在这些旧有系统中需要提供驱动.
去芯片主页找找. 不知道各个发行版的新版 Linux 会不会加入这些设备的支持
