升级不成mount命令却不能用了？

我的RH8.0 内核2.4.18-14 升级2.6.0不成。现在mount -t vfat -o iocharset=gb2312 /dev/hda14 /mnt/wind 出了问题，大概意思是内核里没有VFAT文件系统。用什么命令才能恢复？

ls /lib/modules/2.4.18-14/kernel/fs/vfat/

if no vfat.o, then recompile u 2.4.18 kernel.

but this problem should not happen.

可能是modules-init-tools升级出了问题。
