版主给讲讲ACPI吧

我的笔记本是IBM A31 (P4-M 1.7G)
从/proc/cpuinfo来看是支持acpi的

编译内核时候选上ACPI以及下面的几个模块，不选APM。
用新内核启动，bootmsg里面ACPI报告错误。
ACPI: Found ECDT
ACPI: Could not use ECDT
    ACPI-1120: *** Error: Method execution failed [\_SB_.PCI0.LPC_.FDC_._INI] (Node c12c2a80), AE_NOT_EXIST
可以继续启动

新内核在poweroff后可以自动断电，但是Fn键的功能比如关闭LCD，suspend都没有用，即便装了acpid 。 /proc/acpi目录下也没有sleep文件。

由于我的笔记本用apm在suspend/resume后usb设备有问题，目前的内核2.6.0-test11仍然没有解决，所以想换用更新的ACPI标准。但这些信息是不是表明该笔记本bios不能很好支持acpi ?

I encountered similar problem in my desktop PC. When I selected ACPI support items, the kernel-compiling failed. When not, succeeded.
And, in the default config file of kernel, i.e., files named "config-2.x.x-xx" under /boot directory, this item was set to not-compiled-in.
I checked my mainboard BIOS, ACPI was supported. So, what had happened?

I just recompiled my 'new' kernel of 2.4.18-14.
2.6.0-testXX? No! I tried, and failed. Then tried again, and failed again. Frustrated was I.

apm和acpi不兼容，我也是笔记本。

晕，说点有用的啊，这个地球人都知道。况且也不是不兼容，只不过acpi override apm

终于等到版主了。。。可是你写的那些东西不过是翻译了kernel help，那些我看了很多遍了，英文还是能读懂的。可是对于我的问题，似乎毫无用处。

期待版主继续指点。

I am using samsung laptop,
cpu: p4 2.2G mobile memory:512M
ATI Redeon 9000 DDR32M

I have compiled the 2.6.test11 kernel,and it works well,
I only chosed the acpi support option,and the suboptions were ignored.
It will display some error information about acpi when I start my computer,
but it doesn't matter.
