经过一晚上的努力，在个位DX的指导下，终于实现了中文的显示和输入。哈哈。

大家都想的都是如何在用英文环境里显示和输入中文，但如果换个角度，想想如何在中文环境显示英文菜单和信息，实现起来就容易得多。

以Debian+gnome+小企鹅输入法为例，你只要改~/.gnomerc这一个文件，在里面加上下面几句话：

#locale
export LC_MESSAGES="en_US.ISO-8859-1"
export LC_TIME="en_US.ISO-8859-1"

#FCITX
export XMODIFIERS="@im=fcitx"
export XIM=fcitx
export XIM_PROGRAM=fcitx

fcitx

重新login，在gdm里选zh_CN.GBK，进来以后看见的就是英文桌面，英文菜单，所有软件的菜单和帮助信息也都是英文的，而与此同时，中文的显示和输入又没有任何问题。
我想这就是大家想要的效果吧。
请注意，要实现这些甚至不需要root出马，只要一个普通用户就行了。

but where is the .gnomerc file, I was using fedora core 1,
I just can't find the file under /
and I install the fcitx but don't know how to start it?
so far I still can't input in chinese, could you tell me more detail way?

装了小企鹅输入法后ctrl+空格键就出来了!如果不行就注销一次看一看.

楼上用地是啥？ OpenBSD ? 字体问题，中文字体没有装吧?

我用的是Debian Linux Sarge，字体都装了。但是还是用不了。(包括官方发布的中文组件，loales)

我也不知道是什么问题，试过修改/etc/xsim文件，也是没用。
