need help in scim & openoffice

Firstly : I can run fcitx, but when I change to scim, it not work.
I set env in /etc/env.d/100lang
export XMODIFIERS="@im=scim"
export XIM=scim
export XIM_PROGRAM=scim

when I start scim at /etc/xinit/xinitrc  or in tty0 or run it in gnome, it report OK!!!, but I can not use ctrl + space call out its interface and can't input chinese, my gnome menu have its setup program. I try it, the setup is runing but no effect. I still can't use scim


Secondly: I have no time to emerge OpenOffice, so I download and want  install it. but  at  the install interface  I can't see any chinese.  I think I must modify something in /etc/X11/XF86Config(because when I update my xfree, it tell that), but I don't know what I need do.


so, who can help me to resolve these to problem.
my xfree is 4.3.0-r3, my gnome is 2.2, this  gentoo be installed by GRP 20030911 edition and I update system(emerge sync, emerge -u system emerge xfree) today, I only not update my gnome to 2.4.  I only emerge ONE chinese type, still not patch simsum.ttc and tohama.ttf.
