启动新编译的2.4.18内核的问题

我在重新启动后，系统提示如下：

warning:unable to open an initial console
kernel panic: no init found. try passing init=option to kernel.
<7>uhci.c root-hub int complete:port1:48a port2:48a:data:6
系统就停在这里了
我用的是GRUB启动，而且在编译内核的过程中没有报错误
grub的相关内容如下：
title Red Hat Linux (2.4.1
        root (hd0,5)
    kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.4.18  ro root=LABEL=/
    initrd /boot/initrd-2.4.18.img
