我快绝望了，大侠们谁要是有空就帮帮我吧

是这样的
最近装了gentoo 2004.0
安装过程没什么问题，基本正常
装完gentoo-dev-sources 2.6.3 r2 想玩玩bootsplash，于是按照指南 emerge bootsplash 然后编译内核支持，并在boot区生成了initrd-800x600文件，修改grub.conf为：(我没有单独分boot区)

......

root (hd0,1)
kernel /boot/bzImage root=dev/hda2 video=vesa:ywrap,mtrr vga=0x315 splash=silent
initrd=/boot/initrd-800x600

......
reboot 以后一看，根本没有效果,跟没装bootsplash一样
启动信息里没有look for 背景图片那一步，不知问题出在哪儿，哎~~，放弃
接下来尝试unicon，准备让console支持中文
结果装完了以后
#unicon-start
提示:
FAIAL Module unikey not found
Install driver unikey error.
郁闷，开始抓狂了，放弃!
接下来emerge xfree,fluxbox算是老天有眼,没出问题
进入fluxbox以后我又开始安装firefox，编译完成后，在xterm里输入firefox无法启动firefox,失望~~
这时退回console发现xfree提示:
(WW) NV(0):Failed to set up write-combining rage (0xd0000000,0xd4000000)
(EE) Failed to initialize GLX extension (NVIDIA XFree86 driver not found)
ps,我已经emerge了nvidia-kernel和nvidia-glx (5336)
xf86config里显卡那里选的是代号18的 nv，并设置了load glx
哎，这就算了，然后我又接着emerge mplayer 1.0 pre3结果编译在dsputil_mmx.c 这里出错
到这里我已经绝望了
拜托那位大侠有空帮我看看

你有没有把新kernel对bootsplash的支持编进去？

编进去了
bootsplash config里面只有一个选项bootsplash screen 我选*编译的

xfree的问题，我已经解决了，手动编辑XF86Config文件把drivers "nv" 改成"nvidia"就正常了

剩下的问题，大家帮我看看
1.bootsplash
2.unicon
3.firefox
4.mplayer
我在论坛找了一下关于unicon的帖子，但是还是不太明白，我用的是Gentoo，有在Gentoo下用unicon的高人吗？帮我~!

我又去了其他论坛看了一下关于gentoo里使用unicon的帖子，发现2.6.x 内核无法正常使用
不是没有补丁就是跟fb配合问题，看来只有放弃unicon尝试一下zhcon了

另外大家帮我看看firefox在fluxbox中如何启动？这个最要紧

我看过了，但是没有找出什么错误
我的步骤是:
1.安装bootsplash
ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86" emerge bootsplash

2.编译内核支持(2.6.3 r2)大概是这样，凭记忆写的

5.rc-update

这里面有什么地方不对吗？

我现在的问题是启动的时候没有显示

我还没弄过BOOTSPLASH ……

bootsplash问题解决了，是由于bootsplash不支持16M色模式
很奇怪
