ALSA, no modules, under Debian

I am using Debian , woody cd , updated to sarge by APT .
But I could never configure ALSA successfully , I am in the world without sound.
I had apt-getted alsa-base,alsa-utils,alsa-source, kernel 2.2.2*(I wanted to update it to 2.6.5 , but failed , can you help me ?).
The computer says ALSA modules are not installed when starting and GNOME says it couldn't open device /dev/sound/mixer.

Sorry for my poor Enlish but now I can't input Chinese .

alsa-driver是不是装了，我的系统是arch，用的也是alsa驱动，配置好后可以用支持alsa的软件，而只支持oss的软件不能用，后发现alsa-oss的模块不能自动加载，就在启动脚本rc.local中把snd-mixer-oss,snd-seq-oss,snd-pcm-oss三个模块用modprobe加载了之后/dev/sound目录下各设备文件一个不少，可以正常使用。

我也遇到过编译2.6。*内核选中alsa,alsaconf就是不能找到我的via ac97,我安装hotplugm,k那个什么的就莫名其妙能认。。。

自己modprobe相应声卡模块以后再运行alsaconf，然后运行一次module-update。
