ati是否会发布xfree4.4或x。org下的驱动现在还不知道,不知道有ati显卡的朋友的3d加速是如何解决的
下面我从国外的一个论坛查到的解决办法 但不是很具体 看后还是不会解决

Hey ! Stinger: I've got it !!!
XFree86 4.4.0 WITH 3D Hardware OpenGL Acceleration !
It's actually been working fine here over the last 5 days, non-stop; I just didn't have time to post my findings here up until now... Sorry all : I've been quite busy lately... however, here it goes :
THE solution for us, Linux ATI Radeon users, finally :
- First: Remove ALL of XFree from PCLOS (either the 4.3.0 or 4.4.0 RPMs); one must do that using apt-get at the CLI (i.e. not from X; doh!)
- Then, install DRI (Direct Rendering Interface) from the "Direct Rendering Infrastructure Project", using their so called "bleeding edge" interface version.
For me (Radeon AIW 8500DV) the file was "r200-driinterface-20040303-linux.i386.tar.bz2.tar"; for others, it would be "radeon-driinterface-20040303-linux.i386.tar.bz2.tar"
Note: According to the DRI website, the "r200..." file is for Radeon 8500/9100 and up; including 9500/9700/9800. The "radeon..." file is for the original Radeon (SDR) plus 7000/7500.
- Next: Re-install XFree 4.4.0, but NOT from the PCLOS RPMs ---> use the appropriate Directory from XFree's own download site: a (big) directory which includes all of XFree 4.4.0 in binary format. ---> For me (and pretty much all PCLOS users who have upgraded all the "upgradeable" RPMs, including "unstable"), the proper directory was "Linux-ix86-glibc23"
That's it ! (seems like a long procedure, but it takes only a minute, once you have downloaded the proper files: actually, one file and one directory full of files...)
Now, I recall doing a few "check-ups" on some obvious files (well, obvious to me, at the moment... last week); also making sure that a few other files were indeed deleted/erased/non-existant before applying the above steps...
O.K. people: I've gotta go, but I'll return shortly with EDITED instructions, including links to the actual files (I've got to re-find them ! ... Where have I gotten them all ?)
---> I may even include a CLI commands tutorial related to the commands I used for my upgrade; remember that removing XFree must be done outside of XFree...
(... all this is ONLY IF there is enough interest : i.e. people not versed enough in the CLI to apply the 3 steps I list above ... let me know !!! )
Regards,
HelzBelz
P.S. Texstar: if you read this, let me know if you're interested in my "steps", as listed abobe: I could easily submit ALL of the right files to be included in one of your future RPM packages... i.e. for ATI user support of PCLOS... Interested ? |
