在VMware装gentoo时虚拟机当掉,然后虚拟机无法启动

各位DX好，我是gentoo初学者，在VMware装gentoo 2004.1，参照：

一步一步顺利进行，昨天晚上已经设置好了编译参数，在拷贝下载的文件时候我把虚拟机的光驱另加载一个ISO文件后gentoo出错，当机了。
然后我想重新启动虚拟机再来一遍，可是虚拟机怎么都不能启动了，MVware loading 进度条完成后，就跳出一个红色X号的窗口，上面写：
[code:1]*** VMware Workstation internal monitor error ***
VM attempting to execute in undefined memory.

以前在装RH9的时候，在使用过程中和安装过程中不小心关掉虚拟系统后，也这个样，然后我只能删掉虚拟文件重新创建虚拟机，可也不能总这样啊，一次非法关机就要重新创建虚拟机，这也太娇气了吧，是不是VMware里有拯救的办法？
请各位DX帮忙了，谢谢。

好像是内存溢出。vmware是最新的吗？用的宿主系统是什么版本的？可以的话升一下级

我的系统是windows server 2003 中文企业版，VMware是 4.0.0 build 4460 注册成功。HELP 里面about VMware 显示的附加信息为：

[code:1]主机名: ppa
内存: 512 MB
主机操作系统版本: Microsoft Windows XP Professional 5.2.3790
当前配置文件: H:\Linux\Linux.vmx[/code:1]


这可能会导致系统不稳定吗？
